By request, here are the original power ratings as calculated using ALL games that included at least 1 3A opponent played from Week 0 - 2008 through Week 4 - 2008. The sum of all 416 ratings should add up to exactly zero.

http://idisk.mac.com/cboehme69-Public/scores/2008/3aprweek4.gif

As the example for how the ratings check back on themselves:

Bellville beat Caldwell by 30 points in Week 0
Bellville beat Livingston by 4 points in Week 1
Bellville beat Sweeny by 20 points in Week 3
Bellville beat Brookshire Royal by 25 points in Week 4

Caldwell's rating = 33.61 + 30 = 63.61
Livingston's rating = 45.51 + 4 = 49.51
Sweeny's rating = 21.45 + 20 = 41.45
Brookshire's rating = 18.47 + 25 = 43.47

The average of the 4 ratings = (63.61 + 49.51 + 41.45 + 43.47)/4 = 49.51

49.51 is Bellville's rating EXACTLY

If you perform the exact same calculation for all 416 teams listed above you should derive their exact rating as listed

Based on Bellville's point margin over Caldwell, I don't see the ratings changing order the rest of the season based on the formula used because Caldwell could well win the rest of its games if healthy

Exactly. The Hornets will take it one week at a time and not take any team lightly...especially teams like Navasota, Cameron and Rockdale. Not a healthy attitude for a winning team to take. On any given night all the variables can change.

I'm just thankful we're listed on any list! I won't battle WOS for placement. He's knowledgable, has experience and knows what he's doing. I appreciate him and his stats.

I noticed that there were 4 teams from district 25 in the top 25, like it has been discussed many times on this board, this district is going to be fun to watch.

So where does the 33.61, 45.51, 21.45, and 18.47 all come from? I know its their previous ranking but how did they originate?

A complicated mathematical formula which reiterates until all numbers exactly derive themselves.

... and there's a team named Caldwell that's fed up with being dismissed as untested or mediocre.

It's called having confidence in your team, and we learned THAT from 80 percent of other posters on here. Is that a problem?
