La Grange 36 Goliad 14

The Leps were never behind in this one. They let their second string play in the fourth and missed two FGs in the final quarter to keep the score down. Franklin was impressive for the Tigers. Next week Hampshire-Fannett.

The Leps got their offense going again getting into the endzone 6 times(one called back for a block below the waist). McHazellett, Wilkerson, Garner and Bunce were very proficient in receiving and Wilson and Dugan broke for some long runs to balance the attack. One interception stopped a good drive deep in Tiger territory in the first quarter. After that the Leps settled down and methodically moved ahead.

Franklin was everything that the press report said for the Tigers making several great catches and adding yards after catch to set up the two tds for Goliad. The Lep D again was very effective shutting down the running game and getting the offense back onto the field.

It was a good effort for La Grange boys. With a tough district upcoming, it is encouraging to see steady improvement.

Next Thursday night the Leps travel to Houston Delmar to take on Hamshire-Fannett.
