You're on notice 3A! The Gilmer Buckeyes are on their way to becoming a perennial power in the state. I give us two years to be mentioned in the same breath as the "Forneys", "Commerces", and "LaGranges" of the state. It's time for the rest of Texas to realize that there are just as many good teams in East Texas as anywhere else in the state. State championships are not won and lost only in Dallas and Houston as the UIL would have it. Don't believe me? Watch the Buckeyes crawl up the polls. I'm not so naive to say that we will win it all, but I firmly believe we are the strongest 3A team in Region II. Good luck to everyone's teams, and go Buckeyes!!!!!
