Sinton...Never heard of that town before seeing this website!

I kid, I kid. I know of Sinton all too well from a basketball game 14 years ago. :(

Rio Hondo and a lot of South Texas schools. I actually always liked Cuero because I thought it was a cool name when I was little.

WAY too many to name. Mostly south Texas and west Texas.

the 3ADL made me more aware of the amount of 3A schools in the Metroplex area.. I had no idea there were so many 3A schools up there:eek:

I hadn't heard of Needville until I got to SAGU. We had a back-up QB on the team from Needville and he wound up having to start later in the season for us. He was a really nice guy, but not the biggest QB in the world. He came in the huddle during pre-game in a game up in Kansas and said "This is my team!"...I've still never laughed as hard as I did right then.

A bunch. I can't seem to take a drive anywhere in Texas without feeling the need to point out which towns are 3A, 2A, etc...:nerd:

LOL. WAY too many to name them all.

I joined 3Adownlow right about the time I started getting really into football at the high school level...

So....

ALMOST everyone in the DFW area or further north/west
The valley teams

A few central texas teams

Basically, I can name more that I din't know, than ones I did know.

I knew towns from Cuero to Navasota and then east to beaumont. (Not all teams of course.)

That was basically my range pre-downlow. :)

We have only had a High School for 7 years. Up until then you went to a local school of your choice and the town paid the tuition cost. Most kids went to Denton, I went to Justin Northwest and my siblings went to Southlake Carrol back in the day.

The only Cuero I knew of was Jose Cuero. I'm kidding, they beat us pretty handily in the area round of the playoffs in 94 I believe.

Pretty much everyone Greenwood didn't play!!

Back in the day, when they dropped out, I was done!!

I could have probably named 10 3A towns before the dlow!!:p

The new schools are the ones introduced to me.

Anna
Argyle
Bryan Rudder
canyon Lake
Carrollton Ranchview
Celina. Never heard of them until the late 90's.

All other towns ,in my young 54 years I have probably been there in my travels, so I knew of them and what they look like.

Liberty Hill.

In fact, at times last season, I began referring to this site to other Gilmer fans as Liberty Hill DownLow.

I think the first time I ever remembering hearing of that school, though, was when they lost to Jasper several years ago in a regional final, IIRC.

It might have been the same year Gilmer played Jasper for the title.

I looked it up. It WAS the same year, but it was in the semifinals and the score was 35-27, Jasper. I did read about that game on this site at the time.

It wasn't until last year, though, that I heard about the Slot T.

(Tyler) Chapel Hill. Before the dlow, I though they were talking about the little town NW of Houston where they make great sausage. Matt 328 straightened me out on that one.:D

I guess I would have to say Royce City. Chasing drillin rigs in my youth I either worked, drove through or saw road signs of several 3a towns.especially east of I-35. Hell I even know where Coffee City is. Ain't 3a but it used to have a liquor store there.:D

haha, I remember when I first started posting on the Downlow, I typed Quero one time and got totally reamed by some of their young posters:nerd:they were slightly sensitive to the mis-spelling

needless to say, I haven't made that mistake again.:D
