"We don't have anyone to throw out the ball for our first playoff game," Tampa Bay President Matt Silverman said. "MLB asked us who it'd be. We realized nobody in the history of the franchise had done anything to be worthy of the honor."

The Crime Dog did alright, but nothing spectacular. I believe he had one 30/100 season for them out of the three full seasons he played there though.

What about a fan that's had season tickets/ attended almost every game?? Considering how few people actually went until this year, I would assume there's only around 12 to choose from, and it definitely couldn't hurt to put them all out there. (Helps with ticket sales too).

They have that one fan who's infamously known as "The Heckler"...he'd be a good fit! He's only missed a couple of series in the last ten years and he's always heckling the opponents' players. He even got his son into the act a couple of years ago.

funny stuff.......

speaking of the Devil Rays - for the last 4 or 5 summers, when we visit our middle son in Florida - we'd go watch a game or two at Tropicana Field. Without fail, the opposing team had more fans than Devil Ray fans there.... ie - Yankees and Indians but we had a blast at every game. Had great seats and after about the 2nd inning - we'd work our way to the "really good seats" I am sure things were different this summer since the Rays were winning. We're going out there for Chrimas and are going to the Bucs vs Chargers game - those are fun game as Raymond James stadium too.
