Almost HALF of the undefeated 3A teams are in Region 4 (10 of 24)

Bridgeport (3-0)
China Spring (4-0)
Liberty Hill (4-0)
Sanger (4-0)
Kennedale (3-0)
Van (4-0)
Pleasant Grove (4-0)
New Boston (3-0)
Chapel Hill (3-0)
Brownsboro (4-0)
West Orange-Stark (2-0)
Cleveland (2-0)
Rockdale (4-0)
Navasota (2-0)
Smithville (4-0)
Bellville (3-0)
Columbus (3-0)
Sealy (3-0)
Marion (4-0)
Cuero (3-0)
Devine (3-0)
Sinton (2-0)
Zapata (3-0)
Progreso (3-0)

Would it be Region 4 based on just the undefeated teams?

No need to think about it! Besides I think I've already said no once before!

Thats laughable. Cuero is tough. So i don't discard them. District 25-3A is tough. Some good teams there. But the rest, well, they're the rest.

Indeed Region 4 is the toughest and wait till the Wimberly Volleyball team gets to State and steamrolls over the other teams.

Will it matter who's region is the strongest when a champion is crowned? Seems Region 4 for most of 2000 has had a representative playing for the championship, which usually means they took out Region 3 champion:eek:

And I had a hard time typing that. I wanted to say Abilene but Sweetwaters tradition keeps them going, cuz god knows they dont have the athletes that alot of 3A teams do.

Now the big question----Anybody not rate their own Region No. 1? As 3AFan pointed out, threads like this and rankings don't mean very much, but I do enjoy seeing what folks think and why.

There are good teams in Region 4. But top to bottom it's the weakest along with 2.

Well if you ask me and Im from Region 1. I think Region 1. The most undefeated teams doesnt matter. There are plenty of good R1 teams that have already beat eachother up that dont have perfect records.

Depends on the team. If La Vega were to face say, Giddings, I would definitely say La Vega is the favorite.

top to bottom - NOT JUST THE TOP 5-6-7-8 TEAMS - I believe Region 2 is every bit as strong as region 1

really!

Somebody on here used to do a composite ranking based on info combined from 3 or 4 reliable polls. I wonder what that would show? How about Harris ratings? Again, not saying any of these are gospel, but they beat nothing and give us something to cuss- discuss. The only stats that I can go to the bank with come from WOS87, except his present power ratings, which he pointed out are not mature yet.

I was referring back to the posting days of Old Card when he would staunchly defend his belief that Region 3 was heads above the other Regions in good teams, mainly because of Bridge City, and defend that notion against all comers with copious amounts of data---and rail about his dislike for WOS.

OC speaks the truth. Region III is the mecca of 3a high school football

Didn't Sinton beat Bridge City 38-0 in the semis one year?

Region I has definitly upt it's status by adding LH, Ching Spring and Brownwood. Not to mention Wimberley, Llano and Burnet in terms of overall atheltic programs, their football teams might be down this year but these 6 athletic programs as a whole have to give Region III a run for their money. And this coming from a Region III homer as of late:p
