View Full Version : 3-0 Bellville Brahmas vs 1-1 Brookshire Royal Falcons

Bellville will travel to Brookshire to play the Falcons. Brookshire has beat Hempstead 35-6, and lost to sealy 22-7. Bellville is 3-0 with wins over Caldwell, 4a Livinston, and Sweeny. Give some insight on this one.

I'm looking for Bellville to finally play a complete game of good football. Executing and avoiding those little mistakes that have hampered them in the first 3 games. Look for Nunn to have a big game running and I like to see the defense make a statement.

Probably by more than 17. The only reason this even merits a poll is because Bellville is the visitor.

This game will not be masscre because Royal is much improved but Bellville will win by 3 td's. Royal not ready for this level yet.

Agreed. The potential is there for Royal, but they make too many mistakes and are not consistent on offense. Royal's defense is not that bad.

Good luck to the Brahmas. I, too, am hoping for four quarters of mistake-free ball and focus from the Bulls. They have the tools, we need to pull them all together. Go Brahmas!!

I was impressed with Royal's band. Especially for the size of their school and all. They are loud, but they need practice with their marching technique.

BR returns 19 starters.... they ALWAYS have athletes but lack the coaching/discipline to translaste it to wins.

Be sure you take along some mosquito spray, if you don’t you may need a blood transfusion. I disagree with whoever posted about the lack of discipline/coaching at Royal. Two of the most discipline-oriented people you will ever meet are their head coach and superintendent. Be sure you notice the building project that is taking place at Royal ISD. The AD said that the stadium as well as the track gets a complete new look in a couple of years. I was impressed.

Agreed. I didn't notice any discipline problems with Royal.

I hear that they are going to redo the visitors side to make that the home side....And, Im still bruised up from those mosquitoes. They were hugh...Reminded me of those from Bay City.

No doubt that this game should be controlled from start to finish by Bellville, but it is hard to count Royal out by any means. They are very fast and are not afraid to come up and hit you. I believe they are a playoff team if they can get it all together by district time, but Bellville wins this by at least a couple of tds.

Everyone I have ever talked to says Royal's lack of Coaching/technique costs them. They are the most talented team in our district and will not win it because of that very reason.

Well, maybe there is a lack of coaching, but there isn't a discipline problem..Atleast from what I saw Friday. I do agree that Royal has the potential and they are very talented.

Tell your offensive players to watch out for #77, he is about 6'3" and goes well past 300 Ibs. He only plays a couple of plays in a row but he does a great job clogging up the middle and not allowing anyone to get through. Also, he fell on our qb and I thought we had lost him for the season.

Please post the JV and Freshman scores tonight. A big tip of my hat to the coaching staff for the program in place. A lot of schools are very envious of what is happening in the Bellville program. Spoke to a 5a assistant coach today and he stated to me, if the head job ever came open in Bellville, there would be about 500 applicants in line for such a job. He termed it a dream job, just like Katy, Northshore and other schools around the state with a win tradition year after year.
