This was the first time in many years that it was shown on tv and the first time ever on TCM so the good news is we will no doubt get more chances and of course I will post when it is showing again.
This movie is 77 min long and is in black and white. This is one of many westerns made in the 50s and 60s with the purpose of being the bottom half of double features that were shown on Saturdays in theatres and drive ins. They were good but were cheaply made and unfortunately most of them were in black and white robbing us of some beautiful color scenery but still they were good. This movie was filmed in Utah. Also it must be noted that even though most of these movies were good you are bound to hit a few gems in the 100s or so made. This is one of the gems.
This movie is about stagecoach passengers and escorts who have to take refuge in a ghost town against an Indian attack. Most of them reveal their true natures and flaws under the stress of the attack. The movie is a great psychological western but also has pleanty of action and suspense to hold the interest indeed.
The cast is excellent and just to name a few Kent Taylor plays Convoy, John Smith is Duff, Manan Carr as Barbara, Serena Sande as Maureen and William Phillips who is really outstanding plays Smith's sidekick McCabe.

I really enjoyed this movie even though I missed the first three minutes so naturally I am looking forward to seeing the part I missed. I know you will be looking forward to it.

And that music at the parting shot is unforgetable!

I need to also point out that the Indian who plays Fire Knife is Chief Ted Nez who was actually an Indian Chief.
