Well that pushes the Battlin' Badger losing streak to 14 games (I'm fairly confident that this is the longest losing streak in school history, but I could be wrong.) and it'll likely be at 20 by season's end. :( I thought my alma mater had bottomed out going 0-10 last year, but apparently I was wrong, way wrong. My mother works at the high school and she said the kids are just really, really small. She said they give it their best, but they're overmatched physically and just aren't that good.
Congratulations to Gatesville though. It's been a lean few years, but it's good to see the Fightin' Hornets beginning to right the ship as they're now 3-1. They're just a one point loss to Mexia (15-14) on opening night from being 4-0 right now. The way things are looking they'll get to make a playoff appearance this year and I'll be glad for them if that happens!
