LH's future looks pretty bright

Bwood receiver drops a beauty. Can't win a game dropping wide open passes. 2nd - Holloman, catches, long gain, inside 5 yard line. 1st and goal, Lions.

I am disappointed to hear Lattimore didnt grow to the size I thought he would. I umpired a baseball game when he was a freshman, and he was probably the biggest kid on the LH team (top 3 at least). Sounds like he didnt quite grow that much over the years. I thought he would be a great D1 prospect.

The commentator just said exactly what i am thinking...BW has only ONE HOPE to keep scoring...and thats Paschall. LH has many weapons that BW needs to worry about. Odds are, the LH coaches can find a way to stop ONE player, I doubt BW can stop many LH runners.

You are the best 1-3 team in the state. Can't believe you guys are 1-3. That is nuts. Brownwood is the best passing team I have seen Liberty Hill play. We just could not stop them. WOW. What a game. 42 points scored in the 4th quarter.
about 1,050 yds of offense

WOW

One of the best games I have ever seen.

It was a classic.

Of all the passing BW did the LIberty Hill defenders were right with most of the recievers all night long. It was perfect passes to really good recievers. Miller and Taylor are big (literally) targets that caught almost everything over the smaller Panther defenders. And Holleman for BW is a smaller WR but wow is he quick. He gave the Panthers fits after the cacth.

Milller for BW is also the kicker. WOW he a a strong leg. Kicked every kickoff in and out of the endzone.

Busted knuckles (ringing the bell so hard) & no voice whatsoever this morning. WHAT A GAME!!! Both teams left it all on the field last night, and I wanna give props to both squads. Standing  for putting on one heck of a show!

Liberty Hill is definately the real deal. Smashmouth, pound it, explosive......very impressive! You guys definately deserve all the accolades you receive. A team that plays as one solid unit, but I gotta point out one name that I kept hearing in my nightmares last night...."Lattimore". The kid is a beast! Congrats to the Panthers on an impressive win.

I don't know that I've ever been more proud of our Lions! Never gave up. Kept fighting & clawing to the very end. One thing that I think our boys really showed tonight, besides that we can really chunk that ball, is they have got pure HEART! The scoreboard showed a loss for the Lions on the scoreboard at the end of the game but I couldn't help but smile. The Lions need to hold their heads high cuz they showed that they can hang. Like it's been said....these games will only make a team stronger, and that game last night will only prove that fact. Figuring both teams will come out of this one better than when they went into the game.

Hell, let's do this thing again next week! HA HA! WHAT A GAME!! Figuring the adrenaline will be with me the rest of the weekend.

I love 3A Football! This is what it's all about, and I am so glad that we're a part of it now! :2thumbsup . The atmosphere was just awesome! I do believe that the Lions & the Panthers will both be making a little noise by season's end ;) .

It's a pleasure to be a part of the "DownLow family". I want to give a special thanks to "RM" for letting us guys use her "backside" :p :D (this will be even more fun after meeting you). Looking at the comparable results and performances from the last few weeks, if you can fly/walk/drive/crawl--be at Bulldog Stadium for the district opener for Wylie vs Brownwood--should be another "Classic" and will definitely be standing room only! BEAST...By the way, on that flag...the commentators were kind of whining all night regarding the refs and the "non-calls" that they felt LH should have gotten (they did admit late in the game that the refs had done a good job, but I think that was after they saw LH was going to win). Was the call correct?

Another question is...what did you think of the refs overall? I know for sure had this happened in our stadium, we would of had many on this board scream about "homer" calls. Do you think the refs were "homers" and had any affect on the game? Or do you think they did a good job?

Gotta jump in here.. I thought the refs were good over all but they did miss a few calls, most likely for both sides.. Did not really think they were homers, honestly think with all the running up and down the field, the refs were not able to keep up some of the plays and were out of position.

I am not sure what the call was on the onsides kick. We had a perfect vantage point and no Bwd player touched it before the 10 yards and Taylor caught it clean. If illegal touch was the call then it was bad.... I did not see the ref so it might have been something besides illegal touch

I don't have a dog in this fight so I can tell you right now, there was nothing wrong with the officiating! Especially the interference call that the whole B'wood stands were whining about! I was in the stands on the B'wood side! I called that penalty 2-3 seconds before the ref pulled the flag!

The call on the onsides kick was illegal procedure. On a kick off you must have at least 4 guys on both sides of the ball. Brownwood had put the ball on the left hashmark to kick towards their right. They only had 2 guys on the left side of the ball on that kick. They threw the flag right as the kick happened.

Gimmick is not a derrogatory term.

Main Entry: 1gim·mick
Pronunciation: \ˈgi-mik\
Function: noun

2 a: an important feature that is not immediately apparent : catch b: an ingenious and usually new scheme or angle

The offense actually put up 42 on the wood if you want to get technical.

The precision and discipline that it was run in makes it work. Also, the players executed it to perfection.

Well I am not about to soil this game with "bad refs" comments. I did think they muffed some things both ways. The pass interference call that gave LH the ball on a 4th down play I thought was a bad call. But oh well, if we dont turn the ball over, LHs streak is done. All that being said, one hell of a game. Cant wait for a rematch in about 10 weeks. I will make a prediction. Brownwood will break LHs win streak this year.

Cant wait for a rematch in about 10 weeks. I will make a prediction. Brownwood will break LHs win streak this year.

If they meet in the playoffs, I :iagree: !

The 1st was a bad decision caused by good defense. The 2nd was a perfect defensive play call putting the safety in the perfect spot to pick the slant.

Either way, shut up, go blue.

I guess we havent said enough about LH's performance while we have been complimenting BW so much. The reason is that we have come to expect that kind of performance from LH...no "overlooking" intended.

Beating three of the top 10 is extremely impressive. It's an easy schedule for you now, but you didnt have any choice in that matter. Anyone who seriously doubts you are now 3A's top dog is absolutely crazy.

I know one thing! LH has one corner back that couldn't cover his sister! If I was playing LH I'd abuse him! B'wood slapped him around like a red headed step child! Like I've said! LH's secondary can be exploited! I hope you guys get to meet up with Cuero! It would be another great game!

I dont know if LH has a suspect secondary..I do know last night they were overmatched and that was exploited time after time after time

B-Wood was not running any complicated routes..it was basically

Go route, fade route, stop route, slant route, drag route..then repeat

I was really surprised LH coaches did not give the two corners more over the top help once B-Wood got going..LH corners were gutsy and gave it there all, but they were beaten time and time again

I think there is little doubt that LH's weakness on D is indeed their secondary. This is no secret. The problem is, no one in the last 27 games had been able to capitalize on it for a win. Why? Because LH compensates for it in other ways. This is not uncommon...no team is "complete" in all aspects.

I agree Wimbo. I wasn't sure we could win a game if we were that overmatched in the secondary. We usually are not that over matched. This game we were and we still made enough plays to win the game. Our defense did hold them a couple of times but overall we could not stop them especially towards the end. We do have enough everywhere else to make up for a weakness. This team is very good again.

I agree with ya. We probably wish today we would have. We did a few times (not much) and Parker would make a great catch. I mean a catch not very players in high school can make no matter what classification they are in. Our defense leaves those corners out on an island all the time. It's just our style. Honestly I don't think it would have hurt to help them out and try some different things. I had said that if we couldn't get pressure Pachall would pick us apart and he did.

And you might be right, Beast. But...with the number of passes thrown, 2 picks isnt that surprising...for 6 each time is a bit unusual, but picks are going to happen, no matter how good the QB is.

wow sorry but I am starting to feel some Celinaism in LH..if we give the opponent credit for playing you tough and giving you all they could for 4 quarters then we are in some way taking away from LH which I was not at all

LH made the plays to win the game, the Slot T is awesome and friggin fun as heck to watch and their D is aggressive and gives 100% every play..but B-Wood came into your stadium and gave LH a heck of a game ..They took your best shot, and swung back so to speak and basically went blow for blow with LH and IMO proved they can play with LH and if you can play with LH your a darn good team

You made my point exactly. I take nothing away form LH. Your team scored the most. We wont make those mistakes again. Pachall did need to throw those passes. People were open all over the field. Either throw some other place or eat it. He will do that normally. But, to answer my question, Brownwood O outscored LHs O 49 to 42.

Of course those points count, and you know what, I am kind of glad LH won that game. IT IS ALWAYS HARD TO BEAT A GOOD TEAM TWICE IN 1 SEASON. I would rather Brownwood lose this one than the next one.

This is not a pissing match, it is calling it what it is. If Brownwood beats LH last night we end LH's pep rally and streak, whoopty doo. If we beat LH next time we do that and send them home, which will be much sweeter in the end anyways. ;)

RM is correct....the ONLY way for LH to go big school is for Wimberley AND Llano to take the 2 remaining spots away from Burnet and Fredericksburg. either on of them get in (Burnet or Freds) and LH goes DII. Chances are VERY high that this will indeed happen. I would put LH's chances at going DI as less than 10%.

Does the best team always win? NO. The best team, that night, always wins. ;) That is what winning is. You don't win the whole season in one night, you win it one game at a time. That is why a streak of your magnitude is so dang awesome. You have been the best team each night (or day) you have played the last 28 games. Truly impressive.
