GARLAND--After falling behind 14-0 in the first 4 minutes of the game, Forney fought back for a 52-42 win over Sachse (2-1) to remain unbeaten.
Peter Smith rushed for five touchdowns and 173 yards on 30 carries, with four scores and 124 yards coming in the first half. Quarterback Blake Branton gained 201 yards on 16 carries and scored one touchdown for Forney (4-0), #18 in SportsDay's Class 4A Area Rankings.
Sachse was paced by Henry Hunter's 17 carries for 81 yards and four touchdowns.
Lesley Booker returned an interception 37 yards in the third quarter to break the 35 halftime tie for Forney.
Sachse jumped to a 14-0 lead on Hunter's first touchdown and Travis Bergin's return of a fumble on the ensuing kickoff, two touchdowns in 14 seconds.
