Defensive Linemen

Does your team have a big defensive line? Seems like some schools are going with smaller quicker linemen.

Liberty Hill usually has one big DT and a small one. We usually put taller DE on the field. We also have quicker packages with two smaller DTs. That trend seemed to start with the spread offenses. Teams started moving Linebackers to ends to get more speed and pass rush off the end. As more teams only passed the ball or ran draws, defensive coaches started putting smaller guys at DT. Since you no longer have to keep the lineman off your linebackers all the time, you can put more speed and a smaller player on the DL. Just my two cents.
