It is not all that bad. There is nowhere to go when it is dark unless you leave town. The stores on the bypass that have power close at 7 too. If you have to travel into or around town, they just ask that you call the police dispatcher or command center to let them know. It is really meant to discourage the thugs from walking around in the dark and breaking into houses that they know are unnoccupied without alarms. There are a ton of police officer working at night now, so there haven't been any real problems.
