End of 1

Tech doesn't look very good to me.

Only on pace to put up 60!

Mitchell has been picked 3 times.

Another INT.

This one comes after SMU was not credited with what should have been a TD.

That was a TD he had. The coach should have called for a play review.

Tech up 22-0 at the half. Did you guys see Harrell get his helmet ripped off right before halftime? Sucks that the play was called dead but you got to admire that enthusiasm. The guy just kept on playing.

I believe it was 6 also. if called a TD, would have been hard to overturn. sanders and josh bryant, both from bellville are first cousins. great kids, both of them...

We have to remember that SMU won the National Championship in football in 1935.

Emmanuel Sanders has been very productive on every level of football and I'm hoping he can do it on Sundays. He is not the biggest or fastest, but he has a knack for getting open & putting the ball in the endzone. He is also getting very close to setting the all-time TD receiving record for SMU. I have met him several times and he is a very polite and well mannered young man. I hope the best for him and I would not bet against him playing in the NFL.

Jones retained and honored all the SMU players that were already their even though very few of them fit into what they are trying to do on both sides of the ball. SMU doesn't have enough speed right now to compete with teams like Tech who have great speed at all skill positions. They had zero chance against Tech because they were completely out manned athletically at every position. Give Jones a chance to recruite what he needs and he will make them a dangerous team for anybody to play just like he did at Hawaii. They may not be good now, but it's not because of June Jones. He's playing with the hand he was dealt and really didn't have too. He could have cut or run off the players that were there but he didn't. I compliment him for that, and I say this having a son that is a member of the Tech football team so I am not bias.

They also climbed to #2 in the the polls in 1982. That's when the Pony Express of Dickerson and James was in the backfield.

I need to remind you again that besides SMU's National Championship in 1935 they had some great teams with Doak Walker in the late 40s. Texas Tech has had some great teams. In 1938 they were 10 -1 losing only to Saint Mary's of California in the Cotton Bowl 20 - 13. Also in 1953 they had a great 11 - 1 season losing only to the Aggies 27-14.

So these two schools have had great teams and this should be a great game.
