I dont think either team can be to proud of this one. Lots of mistakes and turnovers.

Didnt sound like weather had anuthing to do with turnovers.

102 yard kickoff return to start 2nd half killed Wylie.

Nice thing about pre-district... play the tough guys to get you ready for District. Frenship is ranked 15 in 4A

What a sloppy, poorly played game by Wylie. They need to wake up and get their act together or this will turn into a long season in a hurry. If Wylie plays like they did tonight, it might be La Vega by 30+.

Special teams is a joke, and our quarterback needs to try and average fewer than 3 INT's per game. Defense continues to be the one bright spot. 26 points is not bad condidering Wylie had at least 4 turnovers, most if not all on the Wylie side of the field, and 7 of those points Frenship got were of the kick-off return.

Be patient... this is a very young team. Remember last year we were 1-2 after losing to B-wood and Graham by a total of 14 points. We went on to play in the State semi final game.

Give these guys some luv they could have won tonight and the could have beaten # 1 Liberty Hill last week. It is Pre District. these games mean nothing in December.

Everyone is 0-0 in our district right now. Hugh will get these guys on track. Ill bet my paycheck on that.

You're right. I know they will get better. I know what Hugh is capable of. It's just always frustrating to watch the learning curve early in the season with Hugh's teams. They do get better later on, but they can sure look sloppy early.

One thing's for sure, these young guys are learning what adversity feels like. If they handle it well, it will be a great asset in the playoffs (oh wait, I keep forgetting what district Wylie's in), I meant to say if they make the playoffs.

yea, wow what a sloppy game. our guys are young though. they will get there. well it happened again against frenship didn't it-the frenship football team said they could not hear over our band and they made the band stop playing when frenship was on offense. it happened at wylie last year when we played frenship. matt preston did not do bad either. 2 of the interceptions were in the recievers hands and were dropped.GO WYLIE!!!

Wow, what a bunch of babies. Of all the teams we play, the BIG BAD 4A school is the only one that whines about our band. Their coach must be a real pansy. Crap like that makes me loose respect for a coach. He needs to stop crying and focus on the game. What's their big tough center going to do next year at University of Texas? Is he going to start crying when the other team's 80,000 fans cheer and their 400 member band starts playing? If he thinks that Wylie's 100 someodd band is loud, he's in for a rude awakening. What a bunch of Babies!!!!

Isn't there some sort of unofficial rule in UIL games that bands will not play when the opponent is on offense? Not saying there should be such a thing but I thought that was something I recalled from 10-15 years ago when my kids were in the band.

I've never experienced a team complaining about the band
playing when the other team is on offense. Hell our band
used to play when we were on offense up until this year. I
think some one finally enlightened the band director that that
was a bad thing.

The "official" rule just says that nobody suject to the rules (includes bands) can create any noise that prohibits a team from hearing its signals. There used to be a complex "crowd noise" orocedure in the rulebook but even then, it only applied when offensive players who were not wider than the normal tight end position could not hear the QB's signals (and even then it was the refs judgment whether or not they could hear).

Was band noise the reason for the sideline warning? Never heard an explanation at the game. If so waaahhh. My daughter is in the band and they think its hilarious that they can upset the other team by mearly making noise.
The weather was perfect so no excuse there. Wylie was very lucky to be only down by 6 after 3 interceptions & 2 fumbles in the first half. Frenship was lucky not to lose it with all their turnovers in the 2nd half. And Wylie not being able to punch it in with a 1st down at the Frenship 16 was a killer.
But a lot of kids also seemed to get hurt last night. Don't know if it was cramps or more serious stuff. They also seemed to be a little gassed at the end. But as stated, it's a young team. Emotions ebb and flow as does adreneline. Still lots of time to gel as a team.
I blame it on a case of LH hangover:p

A lot of the players were hurt before the game last night, not including #35. However that's no excuse for the ridiculous amount of turnovers.

LOL! "Purple Thunder" is something Coach Vance brought when he came. "Thunderstruck" is kind of the unofficial theme and song.
