Football In a Hurricane

When I was at A&M we practiced in one in 1984. It was way scarey watching the light towers sway back and forth in about a 45 mile an hour wind. It was just intemittent light rain and you could turn your back to the wind and your back would be soaked and your front dry.

Bridge City played Beaumont Kelly back when I was in High School in middle of a Tropical Storm, winds were blowing about 50mph, gusting higher. They didn't cancel the game, it was fun :D. Lightning is a very rare occurance in a tropical system.

My Junior year in HS, we played @ Calvert in the remnants of a Hurricane. No lightning just tons and tons of rain. Along the sidelines in spots the water was almost knee HIGH!!! Tackling runners and slamming them into puddles!!! That was a FUN game!!!!

My cousin and I decided to take my football out during Hurricane Bret back in 1999. It was fun until the wind caught hold of it and sent it flying. Never could find the damn thing.
