I heard Altus scroed their TD LAte in the fourth. NOt sure what Vernon's problem was or if Altus was good this year. Altus JV beat our guys and held them to only one TD that cme from a pick six.

My soph year we had 19 players on the JV and Altus brought 76 players to the JV game. They beat us 65-0. ( The next week we played 1a Petrolia's varsity in the first game in Petrolia history and we beat them 64-0)

Altus was improved from last year, they had a player #14 who played quarterback/reciever/running back that was very quick and elusive, he was a homerun threat everytime he had the ball, he also returned punts and kicks. Altus had a ton of penalties and one turnover, the Vernon D stepped up again against the pass and outside of a couple of decent gains they kept Altus in check. Vernon's offense was slowed when the big fullback Echols went down early and played only a handful of plays until the 4th quarter. Vernon had a different kid at tailback in the 2nd half, #26 he had some big runs including a 26 yard touchdown on 4th and 1. Passing game for Vernon looked much better #12 was 6 for 11 with a long bomb for a touchdown. Altus scored late on an impressive pass to # 14 to make it close.

Good Win for the Lions, Showing some improvement.
