I'd like to wish all the Freshman and JV teams playing tonight the best of luck. And a special good luck to the Freshman and JV from Bellville playing Livingston tonight. I'll be there at the "Pasture of Pain" to cheer on the Bulls.

Actually the freshman are playing in Bellville at 6pm and the JV are playing in Linvingston at 6:30 pm. I for one am glad I have a freshman. It's been a long week already and am glad I don't have to make the trip to Livingston. LOL

One of our salesmen just came in here and said his son who plays for Friendswood has a game in Dayton tonight. Said salesman is an ex Houston Oiler. Will be interesting to see how his son develops.

When Rouse starts their Varsity schedule in '10, they'll be in a TOUGH district. They did have some good players to build from. Our kids had some problems just before half with a lost fumble, leading to Rouse TD; then lost the fumble on the KO, leading to another Rouse TD...and almost lost a fumble on the next KO. They were up 8-6 when this all started. But they never gave up when they came back after the half.  Good job, team!

We do not cut any boys. All who come out have a team to play on. I think we have about 135 or so this year.

Way to Go Bellville, I hope every team from Junior High to High School goes undefeated. Shows what a great progam is in place.

Freshman
Lorena - 44
west - 14 This game was just plain ugly. U-G-L-Y, ugly.

JV
When I left the game in the 3rd West was up 14-13 and I think that was the final. I do know we did win.

His dad was a great athlete. I think he still holds the 300 meter hurdle record at the State Track meet. This young man has a younger brother that will play 7th grade ball this year and is going to be something to watch as well.....

It was a blessing to hear that the JV kid is going to alright. Was a scary situation......

Good luck to all the downlowers tonight.......

It's the "never say die" attitude that will keep a team going...pat your boys on the back and I'm wishing them better luck next week!

What do you mean by super team and why does it say Leander Rouse freshman played twice?

Super team (for us) is typically a combination of some freshman & some JV players that don't usually get a lot of play time. Leander Rouse is a first year school, with only a freshman class. I think they said there are 400+ boys, so they had enough to field 2 freshman teams. :)

OIC. I remember my freshman year year we played Corsicana's "B" team which I assume was just all their backups that didn't get to play much because we beat them like 42-0.

It was weird seeing less than 20 players on our sideline and more than 40 on theirs though.

Wasn't long ago that LH fielded less than 20 on JV.. Before Coach Vance arrived the participation numbers were not there..
