View Full Version : Regarding High School Courses.

Typing is one I recommend. Mainly the first year course but if they only offer it half a year I recommend it. I took it and still use this training even today. It is handy to have and it has helped me post on the downlow. Also if one knows typing it is easy to get proficient by using these skills to learn to add on a desk calculator fast. If you can take it in school they have home courses and some on the internet that are good. A very practical course that is used long after you have completed the course.

I don't think kids these days need a class to teach them how to type.

Shhhhh! Actually I barely passed it with a D and I was glad to get it. But in Freer a D wasn't as bad as most schools because it was 70 - 70 range while at that time most schools gave you a C in those ranges. But it did teach me how to type though I wasn't a state champions and it was a most practical course indeed that I still use.

A good course nowadays is to take computer courses if they are offered even though most kids pick them up fast. Other good courses that girls took was Homemaking where they learned to cook and keep house. Also automachanics was good and I wish I could have taken that course but couldn't work it's way in. I didn take Shop which was a good course but I was only able to take it for one year.
