Ever since the Caldwell girls lost to the '98 state championship alumni team a couple weeks ago, I think it's affected their confidence. Still trying to figure out why they played other than for novelty. And then they publicized it in the Eagle and on KBTX. Seems to me losing to grown 28-year-old women (some who haven't played in ages despite one professional and two others who played in college) could make them question how they couldn't play them closer after practicing regularly. They've lost to some strong 4A and 5A programs, but after a while players want more W's in the column to build morale.

They're above average but the schedule has killed them. I admire them for playing close to Katy, Deer Park, Leon, Houston Memorial, Montgomery and Conroe Oak Ridge but a loss is a loss is a loss. The Bellville tilt Friday will reveal the truth. Good luck to them.

Bellville has a big week ahead of them..Possibly a #1 in state (Wimberly) vs a #2 matchup in the upcoming Buda tourny..Followed by Oak Ridge on Saturday who has beat them once in a very sloppy played game.

With Caldwell coming in between on Friday, a big week indeed!

After seeing caldwell in the Montgomery tourny..I'll stick with my Wimberly and Oak Ridge statement lol. Caldwell does have a good hitter and sitter though if i'm not mistaken.

Don't know if it's been posted, but Bellville's coach just recently won her 700th game. She has also coached Bellville to 9 state championships! Way to go Coach Brewer!

The Brahmanettes split a pair of games today at the Hays Tournament.

They beat Taylor in three games, and lost to Lake Travis in three games. The tie-breaker in the last game was 30-28.
