LaVega will give Brownwood a run for their money. They are a whole lot better than Burnet.

I will say this, Liberty Hill will beat Brownwood. Can't wait for that game!

La Vega better show up. That is all I am going to say. Burnet also played a 4A Schedule last season. I bet they will be a 3A playoff team. Burnet may surprise some people.

MODOC does just about the exact same thing. They've been running it every year Coach Williams has been there (with the exception of 2003 when they ran the spread and went 0-10) and they're pretty darn good at it.

They came together last week as a team and thoroughly beat a very athletic Marlin team WITHOUT Parr. I know Brownwood is no Marlin, but you can be assured that La Vega will not roll over. Chris Parr is not the only La Vega Pirate. I expect a great game and hope that La Vega comes out on top. We'll have some fun with that if that happens. :D

I think that LaVega losing Pharr is not much different than us losing Kenny Vic They did not get where they are with just one player as we did not. This will be a great test and warm up to get us ready for the district season. This game ...just like L. Hill will make us stronger when things start to really count. Hey, I got nothing against Brownwood. BW was part of my sales territory and I managed an industrial distribution store there for a year or so. I know a lot of good people there, and you have to respect the success of the program. I just got a chuckle out of the intro.

Yeah..part of our intimidation and a little history lesson for the ignorant... I remember one year we played Ft. Worth Dunbar at our house in the playoffs and after they heard that, they crapped a brick sideways and we went on to beat the CRAP out of them... HA HA

What year was that?? In 2000 you guys played Dunbar and it was 30-22 (according to collier-sharp)

Maybe it was 2002 and Arlington Heights ya'll beat them 34-7

We played Dunbar at home for Bi-District in 2003. Beat them 43-0. We actually played them twice in 2003 and beat them for a combined total of 92-0.

No impact whatsoever. As RabidCougar stated before, La Vega is more than just Parr. They have a wealth of talent, and speed on that team, and plenty of speed to burn with at least 3 with sub 4.5 40 times. And about time someone from Hillsboro gets on here.:D

We didn't think Parr was the only skilled player with speed on the LaVega team. We expect this to be a tough fight. I don't have any worries that the Lions won't be ready Friday.

To say no impact is wishful thinking. I am sure LV is stacked with speed (nothing Brownwood hasn't seen before). Sometimes losing a player can really have a positive effect, sometimes a negative effect. Most of the time the effect can't be seen until crunch time...

There will be no excuses used after the outcome of this game. LV lost a good one on offense, Brownwood lost a good one on defense. I say it is even.

My take on the game is this... whoever makes the least amount of mistakes wins. Brownwood has the advantage because of home field.
