Good, possibly very high scoring matchup headlining at Navasota's Rattler Stadium on Friday.

The Wildcats are coming off a game against Rusk in which offense was rampant with a 58-35 win. They will bring a high powered offense led by QB Terry and TB Jones, who both had more than 10 yards per carry rushing against Rusk. WR Spurlock caught 6 balls for a whopping 162 yards. The Wildcats will look to exploit a Navasota defense that looks to improve after giving up 350 yards in the air against 4A Henderson. Navasota won that game in a second half shootout in which Henderson lost it's chance to tie the game with under three minutes left by fumbling the hold on a PAT kick. Texas A&M bound WR Jackson caught 10 passes for 189 yards with three TDs, all career highs. Senior QB Stokes torched the Lion secondary for 316 yards on 19/22 passing, and ran for more than 100 yards. Both stars benefitted from a Lion defense that was out to stop LSU bound Dexter Pratt, who was held to 67 yards with limited carries.

Who should come out on top in this marquee matchup? Only you can decide.

Honorable mention goes to La Vega vs. Brownwood, which unfortunately pits teams from two different regions against each other. This should also be an awesome game.

I'll be shocked if Navasota doesn't win this one. That being said, It could end up being a good one too.

Navasota 35
Palestine 24

I sure this will be a good game. Not only do we have Jones at tailback but also, Alex Powell. And a good corp or wr's.

That said, I hope the 'Cats can puul it out. I think Navasota will win, but wouldn't be suprised if Palestine pulls the upset.

Does it matter that Brownwood is not in region 3?

so.....no more talk about this one? I'll be watching Navasota closely this season. I will be curious to see what their D ends up looking like...as we all know their O is good to go.

We are all curious about the Rattler D. If they can gel together, they will be very tough come playoffs.

I sure hope the Rattlers can put up numbers like that and hold off Palestine's high octane offense. I will go home a happy little guy! :D

Heading up to the field in a few minutes. Several folks that didn't think Rattler football was cool enough to watch last year are going. They are already talking about the Bellville game too.:D

Same thing happened when Ingleside started winning a few years back.

Good Luck Rattlers!
