These are some of his earliest works before he became a big star. They are still good movies though worth seeing. They were made in the mid 1960s and were unusual westerns for their times especially the first one.
The Shooting is coming to the Encore Western Channel on September 24 at 8:40 P.M. It stars Jack Nicholson as a hired gunman, Warren Oats as the hired guide, Millie Perkins as the lady out for vengence and Will Hutchins (tv's Sugarfoot) as Oats' friend. It is an unusual western.
Ride in the Whirlwind is on Sept. 27 at 5:35 P.M. on the same channel. It stars Jack Nicholson as Wes, Cameron Mitchell as Vern and Millie Perkins as Abigain. I haven't seen this one but it is highly recommended by friends. I am going to watch this one.
Remember they are both on the Encore Western Channel and you can double check your tv guide for other times these movies are being shown. They are on several times this September.
