That is so sad considering Gatesville was such a force a few years back.

It isn't that they dont't play hard and compete, but the talent level is low. The coaches do the best they can with what they have. Many schools face those lean years and that is what is happening to Gatesville. The 2006 Hornet team had the potential to go into the playoffs, but dissention among some of the players created havoc and a losing season. From what I understand, there is hope over the horizon.

Yeah I really thought that Gatesville played hard last year but they just were that good

These things run in cycles. Hopefully going through a rough period will help the fans in Gatesville who think state titles grow on trees realize that they don't. As Swarm well knows there's folks there who seem to think that they do.

Gatesville just hasn't had that much talent to work with recently. It wouldn't matter who was the head coach last year, they weren't going to win. They'll figure it out though and get back on track sooner rather than later.
