Don't be surprised if Trinity has the largest margin of victory at Texas Stadium this weekend.

in a weekly pick'em on another site, i picked john curtis to win....

they (curtis) have played, and beaten, national #1's before and they can very well do it again....

they might be a 2a school, but those kids can play.....

They just so happen to do that with a little known running back that you may hear have heard about before..believe his name is Joe McKnight. He plays for some mediocre Pac 10 team. ha

that was a 2a beating a 6a.....

2a in title only.....go by the percentage of the student body playing football at curtis.....same for evangel.......enrollment numbers are meaningless in LA.

7-6 Trinity at the Half

Curtis scored first on an 80 yard drive that took over ten minutes. Missed pat.

Trinity scored late in the first half after a 35 yard pass and a four yard run.

First half took 59 minutes.

Trinity is starting to assert dominance....JC turnovers are hurting the Patriots right now..

Trinity wins 21-12. Would've liked to have gone to this one, but it's too hot to go sit out at Texas Stadium at this time of day.

Good luck to anyone who has to play the Trojans this season. Can't wait to get to see them in a few weeks.

Any minute now we'll be hearing about how a little 2a school played it close to a big 5a school.

except for the fact that until two or three years ago, Curtis played in Louisiana 5A. They were forced down despite their own objections because the larger schools didn't want to play them anymore.

They don't want to play them because they are tired of schools like them and Evangel stealing their best players. That's the only reason they wanted to get them out of their class. It's a joke that those schools have a Christian affiliation (Much like Cornerstone Christian down in San Antone who wrote the book on how to cheat and do it in the name of Jesus.) and yet they break every rule in the book.

This post makes me smile. :)

Actually it makes sense because belonging to Christ is about freedom, and living above and beyond a set of rules.

Christ is all about winning. ;)

wait a second here...my family is from Louisiana, the problem is there is no public/private seperation in Louisiana, the public schools cant recruit kids while the private schools can...if the larger classification had a kid that is a good football player then the smaller private schools (which are basically an athletic magnet school) would snatch them up...what Louisiana SHOULD do is make privates play privates and publics play publics but they wont do it....making the privates play in their classification basicaly did this for the playoffs since most privates are 2a in Louisiana but they are jsut killing public teams in district, the other 2a public schools refuse to play most of the time because teams like John Curtis and Evangel have future D1A athletes as half their team while the public 2A has farmboys at every position thus they just get hurt....really the privates have ruined Louisiana highschool football and it wont get fixed until they have the equivalent of TAPPS in Louisiana but its pretty questionable if they will ever have that...

Private schools ruin athletics at the high school level in most states. Louisiana is a state though that's hit pretty hard by them.
