44 - 27 ACU.

For those that do not know --

NW Mizzou has been to the national championship in D II the past three years. They have a 17 game home winning streak. That comes to and end tonight.

ACU looks much improved on defense.

All three Vernon players showed up and had great games.

I know ACU had Prosser (sp?). He was such a great player for Celina. He killed Vernon several years ago.

I was looking for him but haven't heard his name??? ANy info???

Final now. ACU 44 - NW Mizzou 27

This was a great game.

Congrats to the Wildcats and the Lone Star Conference for finally getting one against the MIAA.

On another note, I'm at Washburn Univ now and saw them demolish Colorado Mines on Thursday. I may getting a game between Washburn and a lone star school in the first round of the playoff! Who knows???

Two of the three longest home winning streaks in Division II came to an end today.

NWMSU - 17 games - lost to ACU, 44-27
Newberry - 15 games - lost to defending national champion Valdosta St., 14-9

Rough day. Still easily 4 of the best teams in D-II though.

I would assume he is a redshirt freshman this season. Maybe he did not make the travel squad? I imagine if he stays with it you will see him.

Huge win for the Wildcats. I am thrilled to see them finally get their program going in the right direction again. If Scott stays healthy he should be the favorite for the D2 Heisman Award. (hillman award?)

Dru is number 3 safety on the depth charts. A senior starts and dru is a freshman in eligibilty this year. Red shirted last year.

He was sure a great all around player. I hope he can get in there and mix it up this year -- especially if ACU can win it all.

He might. I can tell you about a tackle he missed on Ashton whiteside in the 06 semi's that rattled the stadium and Whiteside just shrugged it off and kept on going.

Not to be a sour apple here but Bernard Scott left Vernon on VERY bad terms. I am all for a person turning his life around and wish him the best but he did not carry himself the way a Vernon Lion should. I would just assume we say he is from Wichita Falls.

saying that it great to hear that Whiteside and Gates are doing so well. Being a MSU grad I find it hard to cheer for ACU but in this case I'll make an exception.
