GOLIAD – A strong defensive performance from the Sinton defense helped the Pirates beat the Goliad Tigers 35-18.

Sinton (1-0) scored twice on interception returns, on for 16 yards and another for 30, and a 32-yard fumble return. The Pirates also scored once on a 4-yard run and 33-yard pass.

Goliad (0-1)was lead by quarterback Chris Carrera, who passed for 230 yards with 23 completions on 24 attempts and three interceptions.

Hayden Hotwell scored on a 31-yard pass from Carrera. Hotwell pulled the ball in 4 times for 91 yards and had an interception on the evening.

Kobe May also scored for the Tigers on a 1-yard run, and Aron Franklin scored on a 30-yard run.
