I never mind hearing homerism from the other school's braodcast. I think Vernon has been spoiled because Mike Klapenbaugh has never been a homer when he is calling a game. In fact I would argue he is too down the middle and could use a little homerism. Saying that he is very good at what he does and so is the crew he works with Gene and Mark.

I always listen to the game on the radio when I'm in person -- one time against Altus the radio guys said that Bubba Hall was Coach Hall's son.... How funny Bubba is black and the coach is white. This was a good game but pretty sloppy on both sides. Wylie's defense is solid and #12 is a Hoss. Vernon and Wylie's passing games left a little to be desired, but its early and there is time to get it right before district. Echols is a load running the ball, but playing both ways seemed to take its toll on him tonight, Whiteside also carried well but the wingbacks were shutdown all night by Wylie's D. Vernon's defense was better than I expected being so young and the secondary did a very good job considering the inexperience at those positions. Hopefully we can learn from tonight and play a little smarter, turnovers, penalties, and the 5 or so sacks hurt tonight, Vernon just could not find a groove until late in the third.

Congrats to Wylie on a well played game.
