The Leps host the 4A Lockhart Lions in their season opener Friday. After two tough scrimmages against #1 liberty Hill and # 5 Cuero the Leps should be ready for some hard hitting football. I'll take the Leps by 14.

4a Lockhart was 1-8 last season, who did they beat?

After seeing both play already this year.
I would have to go with Lockhart "D" to carry them to this win.

It will be interesting to see how the Leps debut their offense Friday. My bet is they will start out with the running game with qb draws and hand offs to the rb to bounce off tackle to the outside. When the Lion D gets wise to his they will then start passing the football. Watch for the lateral screen and deep stuff over the middle. I would expect a lot of alternating at qb as well since the starting role has not been established.

It might be complicated but it will work out for the best. Either way the Leps will have a solid leader and performer at the helm. Whatever happens you can bet that both of these young men will get behind the team and give 100%. I am very optimistic about this 2008 team. It is talented and young but it seems to have that intangible thing going for it. I look forward to Friday's game. :)

Usually the games are broadcast on KBUK 100.7 FM.
