Farmersville vs Canton Scrimmage

The Farmers looked sharp in their first offensive series driving the ball inside the Eagle 20 before fumbling the ball. Their defense held Canton scorless on their first posession. Then we suffered a few injuries and had 3 starting offensive lineman out and our offensive play suffered because of it for the next few series until the back-up's got used to the tempo of the scrimmage. Our defense still looked good. Our secondary needs a bit of work, but Canton did not gain more than about 3 yards on the ground and gained most of their yardage through the air. During the live portion of the scrimmage Austin Brooks threw a perfect pass to Sean Day on a critical 3rd down play to keep the scoring drive alive and both teams settled for a 2-2 tie! Canton was a very good football team with good size and speed. The Farmers matched up well and have a lot of room for improvement. Look for the Farmers to be a force to be reckoned with in 3A this year!

Farmersville plays Palmer I believe this Friday and I think it may start around 5:00 pm???? Not 100% sure on the times yet. All Farmer fans sound off as to how you thought the team looked against Canton....

Farmersville had many To's on offense, but hit some big 3rd and long plays as well as a fourth down TD pass.

Canton not much running the ball, but passing attack looked good at times. Canton dropped a sure TD pass on fourth down and over threw a few others.

Very accurate synopsis of the scrimmage. That sounds just about right! Both teams were very good. They should both have excellent seasons this year!
