of Texas A&M University won the gold medal for the shot put in the 1968 Olympics. He also set the world record in it four times plus in 1964 he won the silver medal. Remarkable indeed.

Yes, I did know that. And, what's amazing is that Randy Matson never came within 10' of Michael Carter. Michael Carter was a freak of nature among freaks of nature. :thinking:

Michael Carter set a High School world record with a 12 lb. shot. He never set any record with the 16 lb shot, choosing a professional football career over track & field.

I saw him at a track meet in Forney, he is just fat now. His son is just as good though

Has his son thrown a 12 lb shot over 81"? How old is his son, or should I say what grade is he in school?

Yes, he can throw it over 81". Even I think I could do that.

His son won the 4A state championship with 61'

Carter's daughter throws too.
As far as Matson, It just goes to show that a t-sip can learn something new everyday.
