I did terrible. Most I didn't have a clue....did I ever mention that while in school I HATED History??

These were my results:

Thank you for participating, your score is 38%!

Congratulations, you nudged above 33%. This shows you have interest in those thing immediately important to you, but are a little indifferent about periphery issues.:D

I did choose SA and apparently that wasn't correct. I think Dallas was what they had as the answer.

I had 55%, which was disappointing. :twitch:

50%...........that's terrible.........but some of those questions were hard towards the end there. And Dallas was where the world's fair was.

Same thing different names. If you don't believe me look at this link:
http://www.bie-paris.org/main/index.php

Half way down the page on the left side.

I don't think The Bureau of International Expositions located in Paris, and the official committee for World's Fair and Expo's would be misinformed.
I also know the 1982 Worlds Fair was in Knoxville. I saw it on the Simpsons.

sinton66
08-16-2008, 09:09 PM
It was never billed as a "World's Fair". I don't care what some Paris morons called it after the fact. It was simply an exposition celebrating North, Central, and South America, hence the name HEMISfair. If the participants are all from the Western hemisphere, it can't truly be a "World's Fair".

 I'm not trying to fight with you, so don't get mad at me. I'm just responding to a Texas history quiz, OK? According to what they claim the BIE consist of member nations (98) who regulate Expo's and set standards for what happens. Sometimes they're called Worlds Fairs and sometmes Expo's. The organization has been around since the 20's, and it's roots go back to the 1850's. They claim to be the group that choose the themes and locations. If you know different fine. Go to their website and call them all froggy liars.

I'm not mad, just saying I was around back then when it was being promoted and am quite familiar with how it was advertized. The Paris bunch had nothing whatsoever to do with it. It was simply an "Americas" deal.

I'll take your word on it! I was around too, but didn't live close to San Antonio to know the details.
It almost sounds like the old Soviet Union. No matter what someone or some country accomplished, they would claim they invented or discovered it first. I swear I remember them claiming they invented/developed the potato.
