A memorial service for Tyrick Bonner, 14 will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Brenham High School.

Bonner drowned in a pond at the Gun and Rod Club Saturday during a celebration he and his fellow teammates on the Washington County Junior All Stars were having to commemorate the team’s deep playoff run that culminated in playing for the state championship last month in Tyler.

In addition to pitching and playing center field, Bonner had been quarterback on the seventh and eighth grade football teams, and was slated to have had that position again on the freshman football team.

prayers to family and friends and i know this is the last thing u should think about when a child loses his life but its always a shame bc u never know what amazing thing he could have done..you never know this kid could have been the next joe montana or the next randy johnson or the a future president or cured a major disease..its always a shame that young lives are taken without ever knowing what he or she could have done...
