Okay, this is a homer post, but a good one. Will Middlebrooks had a really good weekend in the midst of his first full season with the Red Sox' short-season A team, the Lowell Spinners, when they played a game at Fenway Park before 36,000+ fans. It was the experience of a lifetime:

Pretty cool story and it had to be a great thrill for him. I noticed that the manager is Gary DiSarcina. I remember this guy because Chris Berman did his all-time list of nicknames many years ago and at the top of the list was Gary "Little Old Lady from Disarcina".

I'm sure the older folks understand the song he was referencing with that nickname. :)

Thats great. He played against our teams several times in high school and summer ball. He's an awesome player.
