Eduardo passed right over us in Grimes County. I think the squall that blew through three days before that was a worse storm than Eduardo! We barely got an inch, and we are only 100 miles from the coast. I would welcome more rain, but not if it meant people near the coast losing property and lives.

Some of the PI Tarpons players have lost their homes and are now staying with other players or families. But good thing is they have their team and football, that keeps their mind of what's happening at home, or in this case lack of one.

I know all too well what it's like to be displaced from your home. We lost ours to the flood of 1998 here in Cuero. I know the trauma emotionally you go through. I am glad those players have a support system. Hopefully it won't be too long before they can move back home.

That's right I remember that happening in Cuero. Was that flood from a Hurricane or just lots of rain?

Here is a clip of a TV news story of the team from yesterday;

Just watch out for this tropical monster! You don't want him to hit your home!

It was October........A monday......they called school off first thing in the morning. Lots of rain UP the Guadalupe River caused the flood. I stood on the corner and watched the river come from the south up the street, and from the west up the highway at the same time. It wasn't just a trickle either......you could just hear the river water running. We had to be picked up by a huge truck! We lost our house and contents.......i'm glad that's over and we recovered!

Wow that sounds so scary, even more so because I don't know how to swim and that has always been my fear to die by drowning.

I am glad you go through it ok, otherwise we wouldn't be here talking to each other.
