Broken pinky finger - 6 to 8 weeks coming from a Bronson Arroyo hit by pitch.

Seriously, that is a BIG BLOW for the Astros. Carlos had just reached 12 of 13 plate appearances and was killing opposing pitching for the last month with no signs of letting up. Berkman had better step it up and start hitting for power again. Erstad will probably fill in in LF for him, and I would bet this will be a good time to call up some minor league talent to get some starts. The Astros are only 2 games below .500 now, and even though the Wild Card is still a long shot, getting a good look at the farm system (somebody other than JR Towles, please) can't hurt.
