Go to TASO.org. Click on football. Go to the directory. It gives all of the chapters and contacts.

It's never too late Keith. It is getting harder and harder for TASO to find officials. The pay is great when you consider the amount of time that you will work. Coaches aren't allways the easiest people to get along with, but I try to make a point of being overly polite and courteous so that when I do have a problem or question the officials are more than willing to talk to me about it. Good luck and thank you for taking an interest in officiating. Without those guys we'd be up the creek and HS football would be down the drain.

It is not too late to start, depending on where you are. There may be come Chapters who already concluded their formal new member training for this season since weekly meetings are probably starting this week if they have not already. But there are many Chapters where you can still get going. Again, depending where you are, the pay versus expenses of subvarsity football is fair but that should not be the reason you get into this. If it is, it will not be long before you realize that you are spending a lot of time off the field getting ready to be on the field and when you run the numbers, you might be able to make more per hour working at Mickey D's. Get into it for the fun of the game and you will never be disappointed as it will always be fun.

There are several of us who can steer you to the correct person based on where you are at. Let us know

Austin has a great bunch of guys. Met many of them this Summer when I did their clinic. Theay have an area on their website just for new members: http://www.austinofficials.org/newmembers.html
I don't think it is too late to hook up with them

In the Denton area you can contact either the Dallas, Ft Worth, or North Texas Chapter. For Dallas contact Mark Paxton, mark_pxtn@hotmail.com or the Chapter at dfoasecretary@aol.com
Chapter phone: (972) 235-9110

For Ft Worth, try http://fwfo.org/Recruit/recruit.htm

For North Texas, try - Keith Schoby at 940-733-7444 or TxRefs@gmail.com That Chapter might mean more travel for you but you will get on a varsity field a lot faster there than in the other 2
