he will swim in the finals tonight, attempting to break his own world record and win the first of potentially 8 gold medals

The mens US basketball team put it on China 101-70.


Medal count so far is China 8 and the US 8.

China has 6 golds and 2 silvers
US has 2 golds 2 silvers and 4 bronze

Interesting indeed.



Right now in water polo the US is beating china 3 minutes left in the 4th

China is racking up the golds but it is to be expected. Track & Field should rack us up a lot plus we have a chance at 6 more medals from Phelps!

I would think we will be getting a gold in womens beach volleyball. I wonder when they will finish up?

Don't panic anyone. This early gold medal and overall lead by China was expected and it will probably increase in gymnastics and ping pong.

we could win the gold in men's too...as a matter of fact that sport could possibly be 4 medals w/ 2 teams in men's and women's...the worst we should do is 2 medals of any metal though w/ the men and women combined...

It was just the first game but our women held on in water polo to barely beat China 12 to 11. We are slight favorites for the gold but it may be close because those Chinese women put up a fight. But about half of their goals were in the penalty situation against us.

USA womens basketball destroyed China 108-63. In womens beach volley team USA(rogers/dalhuasser) defeated Switzerland 2 games to 0.

That is one thing I can't stand to watch...probably has everything to do with me not being much of a swimmer. How deep is the water that they play that sport in?

APPF we could possibly get two golds in womens beach volleyball. If you get the chance you should check out some badminton...it's crazy to watch.

how? there is only 1 gold for the women's beach volleyball and 1 gold for the men...it'd be impossible to get 2 golds in the same sport since there are no ties...
