This could get pretty ugly if no one steps in to stop it.

Knowshon Marino is pretty unstoppable on the offense. I don't think that defensively they can do much to stop Russia.

This area of the world has been know to draw on allegiances...guess who is Georgia's most powerful friend...

Let's see, the Georgian intelligentsia estimated that their best friend, USA, would step in to help, thus opening a third conflict in which we can participate? Good thinking!:( :(

"The fat cats will use this as another excuse to raise the gasoline prices" said the Sinton GodFather with a frown while going to the snack bar for a cup of coffee.

As recently as a couple of years ago, did you think that you'd be glad to see gasoline and oil going DOWN to those prices right now?

Nope. Still not happy but markets control it all. If everybody knows that a fatcat controls this as has been stated, then why doesn't everybody buy stock in these oil companies. Enjoy the profits with the fatcats.

This S. Ossetia matter is more complex than anything. The Russians are still wanting to dictate to their former satellite states and Georgia said to kiss off. Georgia is a NATO candidate as well as the Ukraine. S. Ossetia is populated by people of Iranian extraction although they are Orthodox Christians. Most are Russian speakers.

Russia continues its paranoid ways toward the West. If push comes to shove, Russia will back out of this situation. We spent them to their Soviet Union death before and we would do it again.

now this is dicey

At the Pentagon, a senior defense official said Georgian authorities have asked the United States for help getting its approximately 2,000 troops out of Iraq. The request is apparently related to the fighting in South Ossetia.
would assisting Georgianas out of Iraq and into the fight constitute an act of war or precipitate a threat such as shooting down any flight or sinking any boat carrying Georgian troops back to Georgia? Doubt the U.S. would airlift them, likely just replace the responsibilites given to them in Iraq, then again who knows. Interesting note about the pipeline that goes through Georgia, it helps bypass reliance on middle eastern oil as well as Iranian and Russian influence...world leaders are like gangstas, mind on their money and money on their mind! lol wars and natural resources, goes together like chuck norris's feet and bad guys faces!
