It was hot, practice reports are overrated. Won't really start seeing anything of note until next Saturday when teams start hitting people with the other color jersey

Dalhart has had two good days of Practice, we start at about 7:15
7:15-8:00-Chalk Talk
8:00-11:30 Practice/conditioning
5:00-7:00 a little more practice/mainly Special teams, and then more conditioning

pretty hot up here, i think it was like 100 at some point, and humid, bahh those sprinklers on the football field!

As of right now, Dalhart looks fresh and ready too make a run for District Championship

These practice reports are silly......have you seen anyone who has said

"My team looks terrible , fat and out of shape and we only 23 come out for grades 9-12."

No one would ever say that even if it were the truth

Very good point but i have to say this, the Wharton practices seem to be better organized and there seems to be more excitment from the player's and the coaches.I really like the split veer offense that they are running, have seen 2 kids at the QB position that are going to be a very good fit for this offense. Its the same offense Ron Mills ran when he won in Bay City.

Practices going smoothly and quietly in Giddings. No TV cameras, newspaper reporters......just practice, conditioning, about 90 plus kids reported, normal numbers.

Packed two sandwiches, a banana, an orange, a candy bar, two drinks....nothing left when he got home. Says he's a little sore on his feet (new cleats) but the heat was OK (40 plus baseball games this summer so he's used to it)....

On my second cup of coffee after making breakfast this morning, he left with his lunchbox and hit the door 6:30 am with,
"WAO Mom, see ya later."

boys are lookin good. Maybe a little more team speed from top to bottom than last year. size is good movement is good. Looks like a good bunch. The oline looks potentially better than last years. D looks like it always does. Killer. I likes the way it looks right now. We will see in the first scrimmage how it translates.

report from Gilmer

Lots of changes for the Buckeyes , but the Wishbone looks like an easy offense to learn

I didn't get to see any of practice today here in Graham, but I do know that it is a much cooler 80 degrees, some very light rain off and on and cloudy. That had to have made practice easier on everyone.
