View Full Version : Your favorite soft drink...

For probably the last year or so, I've been looking everywhere for my all-time favorite soft drink and haven't been able to find it. I finally decided today to do some internet research to find out where I could buy it, only to find that it has been discontinued for about a year and a half.

Pepsi Vanilla became almost an instant addiction for me as soon as it was released. I preferred it very far above Vanilla Coke, Cherry Vanilla Dr Pepper, or even regular Pepsi. You can still find Diet Pepsi Vanilla in stores everywhere, so it never occurred to me that Pepsi Co. had discontinued the regular version but kept producing the Diet version.

What's your all-time favorite soft drink? Was there something you loved that was taken off shelves?

I LOVE original coke in the 6 oz bottles (but am not drinking any soft drinks now :( ) When I was a young, I really liked NU-GRAPE - haven't seen it on the shelves in years - don't know if they make it anymore or not:confused:

I like Big Red w/ Mexican Food. Coke, Dp, Mountain Dew. Speaking of Vanilla I used to get fresh Vanilla Cokes at the Drug store. Right out of the Soda Fountain. I also love Creme Soda's!

Coca-Cola C2 :weeping: :weeping: All the taste of original Coke, but just a handful of calories. They used some sugar, the rest Splenda, and it didn't taste "diet". :(

I was crying because I can't find C2 any more and apparently most of the country can't either. :( I try not to drink many cokes, but I generally have Diet DP since C2 entered the Bermuda Triangle.

Both.

What's your favorite soft drink?

and

Was there ever a soft drink that you loved that was taken off the market?

I like Pepsi the best, but I will drink a Coke from time to time. Coke used to be my favorite until the "New Coke" debacle, then it never tasted the same after that. Coke went downhill after they decided to quit using Imperial Sugar and start using corn syrup as a sweetener. That was a HUGE mistake in my opinion.

I remember those 44. They used to have them usually in coke, 7-up and Dr. Pepper. I really enjoyed the 7-ups in those 6 once bottles. They seemed to have tasted better in those bottles than in cans and plastic bottles.

Yep, it looked like beer and tasted like flat beer mixed with armadillo urine (don't ask, it's a long story). Anyway, my favorite is Nehi Grape, which was Radar on "Mash" favorite also. My second favorite is Orange Crush with a little Everclear in it. If I don't have any Everclear, then I'll use some Mennon aftershave.

I knew an old man who lived waaay out in the country around Eagle Lake/Mathews. He couldn't drive into town so when we would go to see him he always asked me to bring him a bottle of Old Crow. He would drink it with Fresca.
I always liked NuGrape and Frosty Rootbeer. My dad had a store next door to Mission Bottling in Fort Worth and we could buy it straight off the line.
And by the way, there is a store in Dallas that specializes in hard to find soft drinks. I don't know the name, and it ain't cheap, but if someone is still making it, they might have it.

So last monday (the 28th) was the last time I had a soda. I want a pepsi so bad I could rip somebodys eyes out lol, but I'm trying to lose weight so hopefully this helps some.

So favorite soda is by far pepsi!

Good luck with that! :)

I tried a few months ago to lose weight by cutting out sodas and found that I ended up gaining more...I guess my cravings just caused me to eat more stuff overall.

I hope that you have better luck than I did, because I know it's painful to try!

Senorial Sangria, and yes it is a soft drink, Hecho en Mexico. Makes a great mixer also with wine for "hard" sangria. Just add Senorial, white or red wine, and cut up fruit.

:D

I have been pretty good about not drinking them. I used to drink 2 a day, now it's maybe one a week and sprite if I can get it. This is since January, the caffeine addiction is hard to get over.

Kolache usually have creme cheese. I guess you could put ham and normal cheese on it.

A pig in a blanket is a little sausage wrapped in whatever kind of bread.

I like Coke Zero. I've been trying to cut back on soda's and drink more water, but it seems harder to do during the summer. Then again the summers over here are nothing like the summers back in Texas!
