We get trained annually on the proper use of a defibrilator and we keep one charged and ready to go in the office at all times. We also get CPR training annually, and we have an athletic trainer on site at all practices and games. Often times these young men come in to practice with a clean bill of health from their athletic physical only to collapse due to a heart defect of some kind. I wonder when athletic physicals will start getting more in depth to check for heart defects that can be a ticking time bomb and kill a young man or woman.
