They are no longer pink they are back to the RED..!!!..

Bowl looks great. Will be wonderful in the next few years with the renovations to the parking, restrooms, and press box. I don't guess I will be watching any Sweetwater games this year due to my scouting responsibilities. :(

They should put tarps over the end zones when the bowl isn't being used to prevent that kind of fading again. The West Texas sun is pretty harsh and it will be no time before they turn to pink again.

Red is one of the worse colors to fade, we had some fence/hand rails at the Jaycees building and it faded real bad as well.

As soon as football season is over they will start contstruction. The fencing will come down as well and a brick fence with wrought iron will be put up. They should have pictures available soon .

Yeah..I think it was in the third round. I remember Andrews kept it much closer than most thought they would. I think the score was 21-14 or 28-21.

The Mustang Bowl turf is getting a fresh face for the upcoming football season. PCL Sports out of Leander was giving the red turf a fresh coat of paint earlier this week. In addition, the sound system in the bowl is being upgraded and the parking lot is being expanded in time for the season opening. Architects are currently working on schematic drawings for the Mustang Bowl restrooms and concession stand. The projected conceptual drawings will be on display at Mustang Bowl and that project will begin construction at the completion of the 2008 football season.

They actually were pretty pink, but the feild was wet during this game, so they looked nice and red again.
I do hope they start tarping them from now on though. I think that would make a huge difference on the fade.
I also think Snyders black endzones will fade to gray if they dont keep them covered as well.
