And is there a UIL rule that sets a predetermined limit as to
how many OT's a game can continue to play and does that include
playoffs?

Wasn't it just a few years ago of the marathon PI/Rice game? Or was it LH/PI??

Are you just talking about 3A? I think there was a game that went 7 OT's but I can't remember who it was. I tried to look it up on TexasFootball but they don't show anything.

In the OT is it the same rules as in college where after two OT periods and the score is still tied then teams have to go for 2 points on extra point converstions?

Yes it is. West and McGregor had it out 2 years ago in West. The game went to the 3rd overtime, and McGregor scored first and converted the 2 point conversion. West came back and scored, but our RB was stuffed at the goalline on the conversion and West lost, 34-32.

Castleberry-Lake Worth went 4 OT's the 2004 season. We were wondering if it was the longest but I remember that someone said that there had been a longer game but I don't exactly remember who. hahaha I guess that really didnt help much.

There have been a lot of 4 OT games, but I know there are some that went longer, I just don't know who played in them.

I thought it would be in the back of DCTF in the records part but no luck. It's not on the website either.

Well, they have a web site, but I don't know what the link is LMAO and they probably have the information you seek. I think I remember them talking about the longest game...I think it happened just a few seasons ago, but I could be wrong! :D

I would recommend that they go across the bridge from Port Isabel to South Padre Island, Texas to the Pelican West Band's place which is located just south of the Radisson Hotel.

You guys are WAY off...

The record for most overtimes in a Texas HS football game was in 1998 when Salado played Moody in a game that lasted over 4 hours and had "officially" 8 overtimes, although there is some controversy about there possibly even having been 9.

Here's a link to the beginning of an article about it. You have to pay to see the whole thing...

Salado 14, Moody 8 was the final score

Splendora beat Coldspring 45-39 in 1997 in a game that had 7 overtimes.

That would be the record for 3A.

No, as soon as I posted it I remembered two things

#1 - Salado is 2A
#2 - There is a town named Moody in that part of the state
