Liberty Hill doesn't run the triple option. I think Giddings does.

Most of ya'll are too young to recall when UT started running the "wishbone" option; it was a wonder to behold; (yes, I know you have seen film of it) ! It was like watching a herd of buffalo stampeding in a somewhat orderly fashion. People just could not stop them........

I remember Burnet running the bone. Hated facing that thing.

That Burnet team was the first time I had first hand observance of just how much real speed dominates a game.

Francionie (sp) ran it at Pitt State, SWT, and TCU. He goes to TAMU and turns into a spread guy....go figure. Triple option is tough to defend. You need a QB that can read the def well.

Ahhh the triple option, it's like "novacaine" just give it time, it'll work:clap:

I actually think they will have some success with it. With Def. Cord. recruiting def players to defend the spread and pass happy offenses. GT might have a good season.

I know an old coach who was there the day UT ran it in practice for the first time. He was stopping by to see Emory Bellard who was a good friend of his and he got to see a bit of history as well.
