and my team Gainesville won and dropped 5 spots!?
thats crap...these week 3 rankings suck in my opinion.

I wouldn't exactly say they're a perennial power, but Winnsboro has looked very impressive this year. Granted, one win was over former 1A and current 2A Como-Pickton, but I think that was part of a "home-n-home" series. As for Gainesville, all I know is the name and the last seven or eight years. I'm not a big proponent of dropping following a win, but what're you gonna' do. Tatum/ overrated.....Jasper/ always strong.. just my opinion. Just as long as we stay at #2, I'm happy. Go Buckeyes!!!

I think that Winnsbor deserves the number 11 ranking because of two reasons they are averaging 47 points per game while allowing their opponents to an average of 5 points per game. They also have only allowed one offensive touchdown scored on them this season. The rest of the scoring has been on safties or a defensive touchdown. All three games that they have played have been over by the 2 or thrid quarter. They have yet to be challenged. We will have the best challange this week as we play Pittsburg in Pittsburg. Winnsboro is also steadly improving each game. :p :confused: :rolleyes:

Winnsboro won 4 of 5 pre-district games last season, I assume with the same schedule as this year. Last season they went on to only win 2 of 5 district games. They failed to make the playoffs. They return 15 letterman and 14 starting positions from last season. They have help with an 8-1 JV from last year.
It sure looks like they are much improved. My guess for their sudden jump to #11 stems from their convincing win over North Lamar. I studied who North Lamar played and beat and saw the progression of subsequent opponents and I can see where the Collier picker is coming from. The following ratings are all Colliers which may or not be accurate..it will take a few more game progressions to establish a good power rating.

North Lamar ranked #55 3A.
North Lamar 15, Longview Pine Tree 0;
Pine Tree ranked #90 in 4A.
Longview Pine Tree 14, Henderson 9;
Henderson ranked #51 in 4A.
Kilgore 24, Henderson 6;
Kilgore ranked #7 in 4A.

Winnsboro 61, Como-Pickton 0; Como ranked #106 2A.
Winnsboro 43, Arp 6; Arp ranked #36 2A.
Alto 21, Arp 7; Alto ranked #8 in 2A.
De Kalb 27, Arp 6; DeKalb ranked #28 in 2A.
