What happened to their defense from 1970 to 1971?

They went from their best defensive showing ever allowing only 44 pts in '70 to their worst defensive showing ever allowing 275 pts in '71

Lean years for the wildcats
Giddings year in and year out is always tough, some good athletes came out of there in the early and middle years
I know of one from the state championship team that went on to play in the old AFL

Giddings had some Teams in the mid-70's to Late 80's that were Absolutely Loaded with Athletes...

I mean they were consistent State Track Meet Qualifiers in the Relays in Multiple Years. They had several Top Five finishes and even Won it all once or twice...

And they all played Football...

I never understood with all that speed(and even some size) why they underperformed...

As a matter of fact, I do...

They weren't coached all that well...

but, that's just my humble opinion...

if those two numbers are your only claim to fame in life then i feel very sorry for you...

and if you are still going back to a very unfair game...then so be it...if that makes you feel better about yourself, a game where you were a sophomore and prolly didn't even play then yay

UPDATE: When I originally started this thread the history only went back to 1950 but I have now extended it back to the first known game played in 1910. The Giddings link on the Region IV Team History page will now lead to this thread.

You do realize this thread is 13 months old? I just reopened it due to the update in the history. You apparently posted that back in 7/08
