Weather conditions sending scores up

Greg Norman playing well-- Hooking up with Chris Evert definitely paying off.

Rocco Mediate near the top of the leaderboard. Finishes birdie-birdie to come in with a 69

Phil Mickelson cards a 79, but he did finish one shot ahead of John Daly's 80. That's OK, though- Daly is probably having more fun. If not on the course, certainly at the pub afterward:)

when Phil gets big press this season he seems to cave.

Let's root for Bart Bryant. One shot off the lead and he spent some of his youth in Rosebud and played some golf in Cameron.

79 for Phil might not be too bad a start the way the weather was in round 1.

Mike Tirico is great! Referred to this as the "Summer of Rocco":)

I love Mike Tirico. One of the best all around commentators in my opinion. I'm rooting for Rocco. He deserves a major after the US Open.

Norman and Watson are playing so well I had to check to make sure I wasn't watching ESPN Classic. :nerd:

did you see that part putt norman made on 18 this morning - that could have him the lead going into the weekend - especially if it keeps raining like it was starting to as he was on 18 green....

would be cool to see an older guy like him or tom watson win again...

looks like camillo villegas made a move today - shot a course record 65...still 1 behind norman though...

Greg Norman is leading and David Duval is only 3 shots back. If either one wins it would be a huge comeback story.

Considering the conditions they've been playing in, I'd say they're doing pretty good

No doubt...the sustained winds are just a notch below tropical storm force.

Greg needs his rest. He has a big day ahead of him tomorrow.
I will humbly offer to stand in for him tonight with his wife:)

I remember Dick Enberg had a great quote about Chrissy's numerous boyfriends/husbands...

"The line is long, but it moves fast."

Congrats to Padraig on his back-to-back Open Championships.

Shooting 1-under in those conditions was pretty good.
