It looks like Rockdale will finally get a new superintendent with the current one about to retire...

I've never understood why there wasn't any pressure on him to make that decision Much Sooner...

Academic performance during his long tenure has been okay, but Athletically he provided horrible leadership to the revolving door of coaches that the Tigers have had during his long losing tenure...

When he became Superintendent, Rockdale was a Statewide Success Story...

Now, he retires and a 4-7 Football Season gets people all giddy...

Hopefully the School Board can make a wise choice in his replacement...

that is all...

As long as Academics are going good, whats the problem?

School is for learning. God forbid we keep a superintendent around who still believes in that.

Sure, athletics are important.

But to base a districts decisions on them is completely absurd.

Carter, let me re-write my post for you...

Academic Performance - average (at best)

Athletics/Extracurricular Activities Performance(including the once famous Tiger Band) - below average (at best)

Extracurricular Activities play an extremely vital role in the "learning process" for kids at all ages, and only enhance the academic education one recieves...

Hopefully now you understand why I don't think my post was completely absurd...

You have an AD to handle athletics.

Let the superintendent deal with education.

Many consistent years by the TEA of "academically acceptable" ratings put on the respective campuses..

The Superintendent is accountable for ALL THINGS related to the School District...

And the performance of Extracurricular Activities under the current superintendent has been below average at best...

You love the Rock? Could have fooled me.....but what do I know. I personally think it is a good place, that for sure can get better. If the Super is retiring as you say, maybe the change will bring about better things.

Rabid Cougar---

I know a win is a win, but you got to agree that that playoff game could have gone the other way! The Tigers played you pretty good. Hope we meet up again this year!!

Hey coog might i remind you that you had a run with Eskew at the helm. I remember a few years back the Tigers ousted China from the playoffs in Temple only to loose the next season with the area's top RB hurt on the Tiger bench. I think you guys are 4 or the last 5 against us but we look forward to seeing you guys again. We over here in Tigerland would love to have played you this season in week 0 or any week for that matter but we got no takers. Maybe we will meet somewhere in the playoffs.

And you may need to check in on the status of ole yoe high athletics as well. Things have changed now and the Rock took it to them last season and look forward to the game this season since it's on the North side of the River this season.

3rd in State Girls Golf 2008
Volleyball Regional Finalist 2007, State Semi Finalist 2006, Regional Finalist 2005
Girls Basketball State Champion 2005
Football Playoff 10 straight years 2 Regional finalist and 1 State Finalist

Oh yes!
From 1981 through 2007 Cameron 22 wins Rockdale 5 The tide is turning?

The only way for CS and Rockdale to meet this year would be in State Championship game. We were moved to Region 1.

I'm not sure the yoe won a game at any level against the Tigers last season. Just like in the 70's times change and the Tigers are due a run now.......

1970- 1979 Cameron 7 wins Rockdale 3

Would you like to try again?
Rockdale won 7 of 10 from 1960 to 1969

Lets try back to 1934
Cameron 47 wins Rockdale 16 wins and 1 tie

I'd say ownership

It is what it is. Aside from the record, you cant honestly say that you guys dont get up for the rockdale game more than any other. It is still a rivalry and probably will be for a very long time.
