I think there is some correlation but not all that much. It is more a matter of coverage stuff and even that is not all that great because it is not in pads and you have no pass rush getting in the qb's face. It is good tool for working on patterns and technique and so applies some to football but it is not the same as pads and hitting to me.

Well, Georgetown won the big school 7on7 championship last summer and did not make the playoffs in REAL football. So, my answer is NO, there is not necessarily a correlation.

You are probably right. I think it might be situational. Some teams are good passing teams and cannot run or play defense against the run so look good in one facet but lose because of other facets. A team like LH that runs great and plays great d would be a stud if they won 7 on 7 anyway.

Rockdale got trounced this morning and I was there to watch it first hand. While it was disappointing to lose, there was still senior leadership presented and that was encouraging and I think they will learn more with the loss and come together better than if they would have won. Now before anyone tries to down Brownwood for trying to run up the score, which could be argued when they went for 2 while up four scores, I'm going to go ahead and give them the benefit of the doubt about having sportsmanship (at least for their players).

To me there's no such thing as running up the score in single elimination. You have to play wide open to keep the momentum going. On the other hand if you don't have any subs you can get worn out and lose momentum also. Keeping your players energy level up is a must.

Got to meet Matt at the Brownwood qualifier finals at Gordon Wood. Saw a guy with a clipboard and he was giving scores over the phone. Figured he was Matthew 328 so I introduced myself. He seemed like a purty kewl fella. Didn't realize till I got on here that day that you were the one he was giving the scores to. Not that any of this matters.....just bored & trying to make nice :D

Yeah, it was me, I'm sure. There was one week that I had to stand him up because I was out of town. He was distraught & devastated and even though he did find someone to fill in, I'm certain they were not nearly as awesome. ;)

Yes, that would be fun. If Jasper makes the playoffs it will for sure be Div I this year. How does Navasota stand on relative enrollment in their district?

As long as Taylor and Bryan Rudder DON'T make the playoffs (DCTF has them finishing as the bottom two in 24-3A), Navasota will go D1
